Code of Ethics
No BUCKHEAD RIDGE MCD officer or employee shall solicit or accept anything of value to the recipient, such as gifts (including Christmas gifts and tips), favors, loans, preferred service, benefits, or concessions that would reasonably tend to improperly influence him/her in the discharge of his/her official duties. [F.S. 112.313(2)]
No BUCKHEAD RIDGE MCD officer or employee shall transact any business in his/her official capacity with any business entity of which he/she or his/her spouse is an officer, director, agent, or member, or in which he/she or his/her spouse owns a material financial interest. [F.S. 112.313(3)]
No BUCKHEAD RIDGE MCD officer or employee shall use, or attempt to use, his/her position to secure special privileges, benefits or exemptions for himself/herself or others, except as may be provided by policy and/or law. [F.S. 112.313(6)]
No BUCKHEAD RIDGE MCD officer or employee shall be an officer, director, agent, employee, independent contractor or member of, nor own an interest in a business entity which is subject to the regulation of, or which has business transactions with the Collier Mosquito Control District, without first having received permission from the Executive Director or his/her designee. State law prohibits all such activities except where the BUCKHEAD RIDGE MCD employee does not have the authority or opportunity to influence BUCKHEAD RIDGE MCD policies or actions. [F.S. 112.313(7)]
No BUCKHEAD RIDGE MCD officer or employee shall accept employment or engage in any business or professional activity which he/she might reasonably expect would require or induce him/her to disclose information acquired by him/her by reason of his/her official position and which is not generally available to the public. [F.S. 112.313(8)]
No BUCKHEAD RIDGE MCD officer or employee shall disclose information by reason of his/her official position and which is not generally available to the public, nor shall he/she otherwise use such information for his/her personal gain or benefit. [F.S. 112.313(8)]
The BUCKHEAD RIDGE MCD reserves the right to implement disciplinary procedures up to and including termination for violations of code.
By accepting employment with the BUCKHEAD RIDGE MCD, you have a responsibility to adhere to certain rules of behavior and conduct. Along with the Code of Ethics, these rules will help you better understand what conduct is expected and necessary.
